For our Energy Product Development team, we are currently looking for a Consultant Corporate Clients. As more and more corporates across Europe are looking to develop and achieve ambitious sustainability goals and become carbon neutral, they are looking for professional parties to advice and guide them throughout this process. And that is where you will come in! As our consultant you will be a serious sparring partner for your clients, and it will be your goal to translate your clients wishes and demands into master plans. To impress them with a creative and strategic concept, ingenious propositions and to sweep them off their feet with decisive execution. You need to have your eyes on the price at all time, be target orientated and driven to learn and improve. We would like you to be our top player; let’s call you the future hero of renewable energy!

As a Sales Trader Renewable Energy Certificates within AFS Energy you will become a key member of a team of highly motivated and professional colleagues whom will guide you from the beginning onwards. You create your own business providing your clients the highest level of service and information. You will be lead responsible for all of these clients and using your market knowledge and intelligence, you will match buyers and sellers in order to optimize their deal structures and commodity certificate portfolios.

Competencies and qualifications

We are looking for a Dutch & French speaking Sales Trader Renewable Energy. For this we expect you:

  • To at least have a Bachelor degree thinking level.
  • To be fluent both in Dutch / Flemish & French.
  • To a least have some commercial experience. But most important, you have an ambitious spirit with a strong commercial mindset. You are eager and curious to learn. And are willing to travel.
  • To be pro-active and not afraid to pick up the phone. You will continue to find new trading and deal structuring opportunities for your clients.
  • To be a good negotiator, who works hard and lives by the motto: “never give up”.

Job description

For our rapidly growing Energy department, we are looking for an energetic, analytical and ambitious Senior Sales Trader.

As Senior Sales Trader, you are specifically expected to take responsibility regarding coordinating, driving, and realizing more complex transactions throughout the entire Energy department, while working closely with the analysts of the Product Development department.

In addition, your work consists of sales and acquisition with the aim of building your own clientele, this involves cold calling and visiting clients – when possible. You are also responsible for coaching junior employees and you think along with strategic issues with the goal of further strengthening and growing the department.

In the dynamic renewable energy market there is much room for initiative. With your knowledge and that of the entire team, you advise clients on sustainable energy investment, financing and trade decisions.

Competencies and qualifications

  • Academic thinking level. A university degree in economics, finance, engineering, or business administration is a plus.
  • Demonstrable experience in (sales) trading or brokering. Proven capability of setting up arbitrage trades in renewable energy, financial and / or related products;
  • Experience in and / or knowledge of the (sustainable) energy market
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Sales comes naturally to you – proven track record in setting up relationships from scratch;
  • Cold calling & hunter attitude;
  • A team player who can work well under pressure and who is persistent;
  • Independent, enthusiastic, entrepreneurial, ambitious, commercial and flexible way of working;
  • Open and accessible;
  • Fluent command of English, both orally and in writing. Other languages ​​are a plus.
