Using analogies and narratives to push an idea is very convenient. You see, when you have this really nice analogy, readers (hopefully) gloss over any errors, faulty reasoning or blissful ignorance of relevant facts that would weaken or even disprove your thesis. With the disclaimer out of the way, here’s the stylistic device we want to use to push our idea on the Federal Reserve’s big, big balance sheet.
